TEHRAN: Ambassador of the UAE to Iran, Saif Mohammed Obaid Al Za’abi, hosted a reception at Esteghlal Hotel-Tehran, to mark the UAE’s 43rd National Day.
Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Ali Jannati, represented the Iranian government at the reception which was also attended by senior officials from the Iranian foreign ministry and other government departments, Qatari Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Abdullah Saleh Mubarak Al-Khulaifi, the ambassadors of the Gulf countries to Tehran, heads of the diplomatic missions of Arab, Islamic and other countries, heads of UN offices in Tehran, Iranian businesspeople and media people, the members of the UAE media delegation to the 10th Session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers, as well as the representatives of the UAE national carriers, Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways.
In his remarks during the reception, the UAE ambassador greeted President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who enabled the achievements the UAE enjoys today.
In his statement to WAM, Ambassador Al Za’abi hailed the unique and historic relations between the UAE and Iran and the progress and growth of these relations in response to the desires of the leaders of the two countries for stronger relations between the peoples of the two Islamic neighbouring countries.
The guests hailed the progress and achievements the UAE has made in political, economic, services, tourism and educational spheres and noted that it has become a role model in the Arab region and globally.
Documentaries showcasing the achievements of the UAE and traditional songs lauding the history of the UAE were played during the reception.
