VIENNA: The UAE Embassy in Vienna has taken part in 46th edition of annual United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) International Charity Bazaar, taking place at the Vienna International Centre of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
Ambassador of the UAE to Austria, Abdul Hadi Abdul Wahid Al Khaja, oversaw the UAE’s participation in the bazaar which is aimed at raising funds to support underprivileged children worldwide.
The UAE’s strong presence at the charity event is part of the country’s policy and keen interest in providing humanitarian assistance to people in need in other countries.
Visitors thronged the UAE’s stand at the event where members of the UAE mission to Vienna helped them to know more UAE’s culture, heritage, tourism and purchase exhibited items.
Some 70 countries are taking part in the UN charity bazaar, a major fundraiser for 32 projects benefiting children’s charities around the world.
UN officials, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic community in Vienna attended the opening of the event on Monday.
