UAE-Italy Business Forum kicks off with attendence from UAE Minister and 400 Emirati and Italian businessmen

ABU DHABI, 17th February, 2015 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ADCCI, in cooperation with Confederation of Italian Industries, Confindustria, and the Italian Embassy in the UAE, have launched the UAE-Italian Business Forum, with the participation of Sultan Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, Carlo Calenda, Italian Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Giorgio Starace, Italian Ambassador to the UAE, and a host of representatives from more than 200 Italian and Emirati companies in the construction and contracting industry.

At the start of the forum, Mubarak Hamad Mohamed Al Ameri, Chamber Board Member, welcomed the Italian delegation and Italian company representatives, pointing to the strong and deep economic cooperation and trade relations that the UAE, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and Italy share.

In a speech at the forum, which was attended by a number of senior members of the board, businessmen, representatives from Italian companies and institutions, Al Ameri invited Italy to participate in implementing development and investment projects in the emirate, especially in the industrial real estate sector, which he said has great investment opportunities, as well as other sectors which are booming as a result of the continuous development the city is witnessing.

Speaking to the Italian delegation, he said, “Your country is a major and important trading partner for the UAE and Abu Dhabi. Trade between the two countries has seen a marked evolution which makes us look forward to greater cooperation between the companies and institutions in both countries, particularly in the areas of real estate development and construction of industrial, investment and other important sectors.” Giorgio Starace, Italian Ambassador to the UAE, said that the large Italian participation in the joint forum reflects his country’s interest in the Abu Dhabi and UAE markets, and its desire to increase cooperation with construction and contracting companies in the UAE.
