UAE partakes Arab League’s Economic and Social Council

CAIRO, 16th February 2015 (WAM) — The UAE is participating in the preparatory meetings of the 95th Ordinary Session of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, which began Monday at the pan-Arab’s headquarters.

Aisor to the UAE minister of economy, Mohammed Saleh Shelwah, is leading the UAE delegation which include the director of joint agreements at the ministry of economy.

In statements today, Shelwah noted that the topics of the two-day meetings include implementation of the resolutions issued by the Council during previous meeting, developments relating to the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone, pan-Arab customs union, investments in Arab countries, relations with international economic blocs, the unification of Arab building codes and a pan-Arab agreement on maritime transport.

Other topics, he noted, inlcude pan-Arab cooperation on administrative development, preservation of Arab urban heritage, civil aviation, agriculture and fisheries.
