UAE, Saudi and Jordanian FMs meet U.S. counterpart

PARIS: UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal and Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh met here on Thursday with the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss the situation in Iraq and Syria.

A senior official at the U.S. State Department said Kerry briefed the ministers about the outcome of his visit to Baghdad and Erbil in northern Iraq where he urged Iraqi leaders to unify in the face of the risk of the country’s tearing apart.

He added that the ministers expressed concern at the lack of inclusivity within the current government and the need for that to change going forward.

The U.S. Secretary of State thanked the ministers for coming to discuss a number of critical issues at the talks.
