UAE sends second relief plane to Libya

ABU DHABI, 4th February, 2015 (WAM) — A second plane loaded with relief supplies left the UAE this morning en route to Al Abraq in Libya, carrying food aid, winter clothes, blankets and health rations, to extend a helping to those affected by current incidents and alleviate their suffering.

The air bridge between the UAE and the Libyan city of Al Abraq comes in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The air bridge supply chain comprises three cargo planes, the first of which was sent last Sunday carrying emergency aid. The third plane will follow at a later time.

This generous gesture comes within the framework of UAE support for the Libyan people in these difficult circumstances and out of brotherly and humanitarian duty in such hard times.
