Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Ambassador of India discuss medical cooperation

ABU DHABI, 19th February, 2015 (WAM) — Dr. Mohammed Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health, today met with T. P. Seetharam, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the UAE, and discussed medical cooperation between the two countries.

Al Olama expressed his admiration for the remarkable development in the field of health in the Republic of India, enabling them to eliminate many endemic diseases The meeting dealt in depth with health cooperation between the two sides. Both parties discussed ways of joint cooperation, particularly in the field of specialised hospitals in India and the possibility of sending patients to receive treatment for complicated and terminal illnesses, the creation of distinct new hospitals and attracting medical and technical competencies from India to participate in the Visiting Doctors Programme to provide diagnosis and treatment of patients in the UAE.

The Indian Ambassador expressed his pleasure to meet with the Under-Secretary and strengthen the bonds of bilateral cooperation between the UAE and India.
