AL AIN, Al Ain Zoo has announced a number of educational tours for all school students, applying innovative educational strategies in a variety of programmes and activities, In conjunction with the back-to-school season.   Designed specifically to enrich the curriculum for different school stages, the Zoo’s offerings include virtual educational tours via the Microsoft Teams platform where students are in video conferences with the Educational Officers.   The sessions include a guided virtual tour around the Zoo and the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre to explore the five different interactive exhibitions and the world’s largest man-made safari. Teachers can also set up their own tours where they will be responsible for planning and organising an interesting and enjoyable educational journey for their students at the Zoo.   Innovative learning programmes designed to suit students from early childhood stages to high school are also offered by the Zoo. AL AIN, Max Williams, an instructor at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), gained an “Exemplary” status in the Blackboard Exemplary Course Programme Award for his course “Introduction to Academic English.”   The Exemplary Course Programme holds in high esteem the instructors and course designers whose courses demonstrate best practices. It has been used for nearly two decades to assess and improve the courses of thousands of instructors, teachers, and designers. The Exemplary Course Programme Awards were expanded when it was combined with Anthology in 2021.   To be considered for this honour, applicants must be a user of the Blackboard Learn by Anthology learning management system. Submitted courses are evaluated by other course developers, instructional designers, teachers, and professors using the Exemplary Course Programme Rubric, and must demonstrate excellence in Course Design, Interaction and Collaboration, Assessment, and Learner Support.   Source: Emirates News Agency
