President al-Assad appreciates support from Iraq and UAE in the face of the earthquake catastrophe

Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad received President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and highlighted the brotherly relations between Syria and Iraq.

President al-Assad said that the geographical and popular factors between the two countries make the two peoples experience similar challenges and share common interests.

The president stressed the importance of the role of the parliaments of the two countries in supporting official action to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas that benefit the two peoples and their objectives and interests.

President al-Assad expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Arab Parliamentary Union to Syria and considered that it reflects the pulse and originality of the Arab masses.

Al-Halbousi, for his part, affirmed that the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union will spare no effort to restore Syria’s influential and active role in the Arab arena.

President Al-Assad also received President of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash, and the members of the parliamentary delegation that participated in the conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The members and the head of the Emirati delegation stated that their visit to Syria is to convey the Emirati people’s love for Syria and express their solidarity with the Syrian people who suffered from the devastating earthquake, war and blockade.

President al-Assad highlighted the stance of the United Arab Emirates and its great support for the Syrian people during this ordeal by sending rescue teams and various types of aid and equipment necessary for rescue and relief.

UAE expresses solidarity with China; offers condolences over victims of coal mine collapse

ABU DHABI, The UAE has expressed its sincere condolences and solidarity with the People’s Republic of China over the victims of a coal mine collapse that resulted in the death and injury of dozens of people.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Chinese government and its people, as well as the families of the victims of this tragedy, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.

Egypt keen on enhancing industrial partnership with Jordan, UAE, Bahrain

Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir reiterated here on Sunday Egypt’s keenness on enhancing cooperation and economic partnership with Jordan, the UAE and Bahrain as part of the higher committee of integrated industrial partnership for sustainable economic growth.

The Egyptian government is keen on enhancing joint efforts with the Jordan, the UAE and Bahrain to achieve industrial integration in a way that helps boost economic cooperation among member states of the committee.

The minister made the remarks while addressing the meetings of the higher committee of integrated industrial partnership for sustainable economic growth.

He said the Egyptian government is ready to offer all facilities to boost industrial partnership with the three countries.

He underlined the importance of maintaining coordination among the four countries to carry out the projects that were agreed upon.

Saeed bin Maktoum crowns winners of Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master

ABU DHABI, Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Association, presented the trophies to the winners of the 2023 World Padel Tour season opener Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master during the awards ceremony that took place among a packed crowd on the centre court located on Bab Al Nojoum, Hudayriyat Island.

Agustín Tapia/Arturo Coello Manso defeated Alejandro Galán Romo/Juan Lebrón Chincoa (7-6 / 6-3) to win the Men’s tournament, while Ariana Sánchez Fallada/Paula Josemaría Martín clinched the Women’s title by beating Alejandra Salazar Bengoechea/Gemma Triay Pons [6-3 / 6-3]. Also awarded were Ariana Sánchez Fallada and Arturo Coello Manso, who were bestowed the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award in their respective categories.

The sold-out finals provided thrilling excitement from some of the world’s top players who battled it out in the custom-built court on the beach. The winning duos expressed their delight at being awarded the highest-ever World Padel Tour points haul of 2,000 points.
