ATLANTA, Sept. 06, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In a significant collaboration, Matmerize, Inc., a materials AI innovator, and Resonac Corporation have formed a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing the landscape of 6G technology. Building on the strong collaborative foundation, Resonac will leverage the power of Matmerize’s PolymRize™ AI software technology to accelerate the development of exceptional high-performance neat and composite materials for 6G technology and beyond.

In January 2023, Resonac Corporation announced plans to develop new semiconductor materials for 6G, the next-generation telecommunication system standard following 5G. With 6G set to be 100 times faster than 5G, new semiconductor materials are needed to substantially reduce the transmission loss associated with the increased communication speed. To meet this requirement, Resonac will identify optimal materials with the required characteristics through computational and Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods in a collaborative venture with Matmerize, Inc. Where manual testing using traditional techniques would demand three months to assess a single materials combination, Matmerize’s AI software, PolymRize™, reduces the time required to a single day and can evaluate up to 90 combinations within the same three-month span. The result promises to be a fusion of materials engineering and artificial intelligence, poised to redefine the development of 6G technology.

PolymRize™ harnesses Matmerize’s proprietary data or client-specific data to construct predictive models. Once built, these models rapidly predict the properties of novel, yet-to-be-synthesized polymers, composites, and formulations, complete with their associated uncertainties. The software employs automated and generative design tools to recommend ideal candidates that meet property requirements for subsequent rounds of physical experimentation. PolymRize™ thus accelerates the journey towards target materials, drastically reducing both time and costs. Moreover, it introduces a framework for data management and organization, and has emerged as a dependable digital aide for chemists and process engineers.

In a pilot initiative, Resonac evaluated Matmerize’s capabilities. Predictive models were constructed using PolymRize™ and 3rd party software for key material properties relevant to 6G technology. Properties included bandgap, dielectric constant, refractive index, glass transition temperature, and coefficient of linear expansion. The performance of PolymRizeTM and third-party models were assessed by making property predictions for identical unseen test cases. NEPCO’s training center benefits 375 trainees since start of year

The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) has organized a training program for 13 Iraqi specialists, bringing the total number of trainees who have benefited from NEPCO’s Electric Training Center courses since the start of the year to 375, including both domestic and international participants. Director General of NEPCO Amjad Rawashdeh said the training program is being carried out in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of the Third Country Training Program, according to a Wednesday statement. He pointed out that the total number of courses organized by the center since the beginning of the year amounted to 38 training programs, from which 375 trainees benefited. He explained that 25 training programs were conducted locally and benefited 208 trainees, and 5 were external programs that benefited 47 trainees. Of these, 23 trainees from Palestine attended three courses, while 24 trainees from Iraq attended two courses, while 120 employees from national educational institutions benefited from 8 training programs. Rawashdeh emphasized the significance of the center’s training programs, which are tailored to enhance the skills and productivity of technical and engineering personnel in the electric power and industrial sectors, both domestically and internationally, in order to keep up with the fast-paced progress in the electricity industry. NECPO’s Electric Training Center was established in 1987 in cooperation with JICA, and was equipped with modern devices, equipment, and training facilities. Since its inception, the training center in Zarqa has had a total of about 19,900 trainees, with 3,580 of them coming from outside Jordan.

Japan Grants US$ 6.5 Million to Jordan for Power System Enhancement

Japan has allocated a grant of US$ 6.5 million to Jordan, facilitated through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the “Strengthening Capacity of Power System Operation” project. This decision follows the Exchange of Notes penned on September 3, 2023, between officials from both nations. The subsequent Grant Agreement was formalized by Ms. Zeina Toukan, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, and Mr. Wakui Junji, JICA’s Chief Representative in Jordan. The initiative’s primary objective is to upgrade the power system operation. This upgrade involves substituting current protection relays with advanced digital protection relays in key substations. The overarching goal is to ensure a stable and dependable electricity supply within Jordan. This enhancement is crucial, given Jordan’s aggressive move towards integrating renewable energy sources into its power grid.

President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Khalil Al Hajj Tawfiq, recently held a meeting with Ma’en Khreisat, the newly appointed Jordanian Ambassador to Pakistan, in a bid to strengthen economic ties and explore new avenues for trade and investment.
