5th International Congress of ENS ‘&’ WFNS kicks off in Dubai

DUBAI: The fifth International Conference on Neurosurgery on Sunday was opened in Dubai by Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The event is organized by Emirates Neuroscience Society (ENS) in association with the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), the Gulf Neurosurgical Society and the Pan Arab Neurosurgical Society from 2 to 6 November at the Emirates Towers Hotel.

A medical educational course on 3D Dimensional Cranial Anatomy And Surgical Approaches was held by the World federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) Educational Course prior to the conference which brings together elite neurosurgeons and scientists from around the world.

In his opening remarks, Sheikh Nahyan hailed the work of neurosurgeons on the human brain and the nervous system which “offers great hope for millions of patients around the world.” “The huge potential of your work will be enormously enhanced by the education of the general public, by appropriate training of physicians, by disseminating the latest research findings, by promoting prevention strategies, and by cooperation among countries and institutions. Research, education and public awareness campaigns must all be part of your action plan.” He also stressed the need for efforts “to build effective national and international frameworks to help achieve all these goals and objectives.” ” By focusing on the best practices and the latest research findings, you not only guarantee a high degree of relevance for your sessions, but also raise our awareness of the enormous promise of your work in treating and preventing disease and illnesses,” he told participants.
