ABU DHABI: As a result to the extreme low visibility conditions at Abu Dhabi International Airport this morning, 37 aircraft were diverted to other airports in the region due to the operational challenges posed by such weather. These flights were diverted as follows: 14 flights to Al Ain Airport, 3 flights to Maktoum Airport in Dubai, and one flight to Al Bateen Airport, in addition to 10 flights diverted to Doha Airport, 6 flights to Muscat, 2 flights to Damam and one flight diverted to Bahrain Airport. Currently, Abu Dhabi International Airport has resumed take-off and landing operations, and all departments at the airport are working towards minimising the disruption to all travellers.

Passengers and “meeters and greeters” are advised to check their flights’ departure and arrival times ahead of travelling to Abu Dhabi International Airport by contacting the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on +971 (0)2 599 0000 or visiting the Etihad Airways website for more information on the status of flights in and out of Abu Dhabi International Airport.
