The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG), supported by the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD), has announced the launch of its 8th annual Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards, with the closing date for awards applications at midnight on 1st September 2023. The ADSG Awards and Gala Dinner celebration is a crucial sustainability recognition evening designed to celebrate all participating organisations’ sustainability achievements in the region. The award ceremony and celebratory gala dinner will be held at Anantara Eastern Mangroves Hotel in Abu Dhabi on 19th September 2023. The gala dinner is an annual event offering a unique opportunity for all member organisations, stakeholders and sustainability professionals to recognise sustainability achievements across the region. The awards’ Independent Expert Judges Panel will be looking for organisations and individuals who demonstrate commitment, impact, leadership, and achievements for sustainability. The awards entries must highlight the organisation’s achievements during the calendar years 2021-2023 (June 2021- June 2023) for two years. s the United Nations warns that there is no credible way to restrict global warming to 1.5 C, corporates and individuals must double up efforts to prevent additional increases in this key warming threshold. These awards are integral to the ADSG’s commitment to building global knowledge-sharing platforms to catalyse action against climate change. They also support EAD’s vision and COP28’s goals of achieving sustainability and encouraging global cooperation to address global issues. Categories to be awarded are Best Sustainability Initiative, Best Sustainability Report, Sustainability Manager of the Year, Sustainability Leader of the Year, Best Sustainability Communication Programme and Best Energy Management Initiative. ward nominations open from 1st March 2022 till 1st September 2023, where Application Forms and Guidelines can be downloaded from ADSG’s website www.adsg.ae. The scoring process for award selection is based on pointers such as integration of sustainability, plan, do, review cycle, impact, communication and engagement, innovation and leadership, materiality and recognition. Medium to large organisations with over 250 employees in the region are able to enter.
