Abu Dhabi’s DoT revises fees to encourage investment

ABU DHABI, The Department of Transport, DoT, in Abu Dhabi announced the exemption, holding and reduction of some of its fees to boost the economic growth of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi according to the Government’s economic plan and to maintain the sustainable growth among different fields.

In a press statement, the Department stated that all developers will be exempted from the partnership fees of transport projects that were executed between 2011 to 2018. In addition, all current fees of developers’ partnership until 2020 will be on hold. This comes in part of supporting the local companies and helping them to extent their businesses and attract more investments.

“This step will save up to AED1.5 billion on the developers,” the statement added.

The DoT also decreased the fees of operational companies of hire cars by a 40 percent for every one kilometre. “This will enhance the companies’ capabilities and improve the quality of services offered to the society according to the best practices. It will contribute in supporting the local economy and increase the level of customers’ satisfaction,” the DoT statement continued.

DoT affirmed that the support of local companies and operational companies of hire cars is a key factor to attract more companies to enter the Abu Dhabi markets especially under the flexible legislations that instill the concepts of strategic partnership between private and public sectors.
