AGIP, Egypt’s GAFI sign cooperation agreement

Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) and Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) on Sunday signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop a mechanism for establishing regional offices in Egypt and promoting investment, including amending existing laws or enacting new regulations, in addition to participating in implementation of Egypt’s digital transformation strategy. The memo stipulates establishment of an “effective and adequate” regulatory framework to promote joint investments, as GAFI will provide AGIP with “key” investment opportunities available in Egypt to achieve a “full” partnership between the two sides, to promote and improve investor and business environment. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman and Founder of Amman-based Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, announced that a headquarters for the company will be established in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC), in preparation for providing its services to firms operating in this national project, stressing that Egypt is a country qualified to attract international investment flows.
