ALGERIA, UAE COMMIT TO STRENGTHENING BILATERAL MILITARY CO-OPERATION

ALGIERS, Feb 26– Algeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have held talks in Dubai between Deputy Minister for National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Lieutenant-General Ahmed Gaid Salah, and Lt-Gen Hamad Mohammed Al Rumaithi , Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, on their commitment to strengthening co-operation to serve their armies.

“As part of his visit to the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Minister for National Defence and Chief of Staff of People’s National Army (ANP), Lt-Gen Ahmed Gaid Salah held talksWednesday with Lt-Gen Hamad Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces,” the National Defence Ministry said in a statement here.

“The two sides expressed their commitment to strengthening their co-operation to serve the two countries’ armies,” said the source.

“The two sides assessed the level of the military co-operation between the two armies in terms of the exchange of visits, training, army training, security cooperation, exchange of experiences as well as partnership in the field of military manufacturing to which the senior officials of the two countries grant a great importance.

“This co-operation was materialized on the ground through the implementation of several joint industrial projects in Algeria.”
