Blasts Kill 9, Injure 60 in Mali

Three explosions killed at least nine people and injured about 60 in the town of Sevare, central Mali, on Saturday.

The spokesperson for the district governor, Yacouba Maiga, said that the explosions destroyed 20 houses in the neighborhood, killing nine and injuring about 60, all of them civilians.

In a statement, the Malian army said that it thwarted an attack in Sevari, explaining that three car bombs were destroyed by the army’s drone, without giving further details.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
