DEWA receives NYUAD student delegation

DUBAI, The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received 26 students from New York University Abu Dhabi, NYUAD, at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The visit briefed students on the latest developments in clean and renewable energy, and Dubai’s plans to promote sustainability and move towards a green knowledge-based economy with a focus on innovation and creativity. This supports DEWA’s efforts to promote the development of knowledge among university students and prepare future leaders.

The students were briefed on the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world based on the Independent Power Producer, IPP, model. The solar park has a planned capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030, at a total investment of AED50 billion and will eventually save approximately 6.5 million tonnes per annum in carbon emissions.
