DIHQA 21st edition named ‘Year of Giving’

DUBAI, The organising committee of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, DIHQA, has announced that 21st edition of the global competition will take place this Ramadan under the theme ‘Year of Giving’.

The move is in response to the ‘Year of Giving’ initiative instructed by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and announced by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The decision followed a meeting of the DIHQA organising committee at the Award headquarters in Al Mamzar, led by Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Head of the Award Organising Committee.

“The promising initiative reflects the traditions and values of giving deeply rooted in the customs and traditions of the UAE people and prudent leadership who are always on the charity front lines extending white hands to whoever in need for help.

“Such ‘seeds’ of goodness, sympathy and compassion have been long urged and implanted in all walks of life by the late Shaikh Zayed,” Bu Melha said.

All the publications and official covers of the Quran Award will hold the logo of ‘Year of Giving’, he stated. “The Award, in direct contact with over 120 countries and foreign communities around the world, will add a special impression to the charity harmony between it and the initiative.”
