Economy Minister holds meetings with senior Ethiopian government officials

ADDIS ABABA: Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, U.A.E. Minister of Economy, is to hold a series of meetings with senior Ethiopian government officials in Addis Ababa today, to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation and investment exchanges trade between the two countries.

In an interview with Emirates News Agency, WAM, Al Mansouri, said that he will brief the Ethiopian officials on the new investment and commercial facilities available in the U.A.E..

He explained that the visit comes within the framework of U.A.E.’s keenness to develop relations with the African continent in general and bilateral relations with Ethiopia in particular, and “boost its presence in this great African country.” After a visit to Julphar Ethiopia plant, Al Mansouri expressed his pleasure that U.A.E. companies have become globally recognised by opening new markets, especially in emerging countries with promising markets, particularly Ethiopia, which, with a population of more than 90 million people, is a huge marketplace for U.A.E. products and brands and a gateway to enter neighbouring markets.

Mr. Al Mansouri commended the role of the office of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), in opening areas of joint trade cooperation between the U.A.E. and Ethiopian investors, and looking for new promising opportunities between both countries.

The Minister and his accompanying delegation, which includes a number of senior state officials, toured the headquarters of the DCCI Representative office in Addis Ababa, accompanied by its Head, Tekleab K. Aregawi, and was briefed on the activities of Chamber in Ethiopia.
