FM: Iraq And Its Govt Put All Diplomatic And Legal Options At Forefront Of Its Priorities To Prevent Any External Interference

Baghdad Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim said that Iraq and its government put all diplomatic and legal options at the forefront of its priorities to prevent any external interference in its internal affairs.

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said that al-Hakim met with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Tao and discussed ways of enhancing relations and prospects of enhancing bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

The minister said that Iraq is interested in strengthening coordination frameworks and cooperation with Beijing at all levels, pointing out that China is an important strategic partner for Iraq, stressing the need to increase the volume of investments in the areas of energy and infrastructure.

Al-Hakim pointed out that the government emphasizes the importance of distinguished cooperation and continuous coordination in all fields and at all levels.

He also stressed that Iraq and its government put all diplomatic and legal options at the forefront of its priorities; to prevent any external interference in its internal affairs and in order to safeguard the security and sovereignty of Iraq and its people.

They also discussed regional issues of common interest, the overall developments in the Middle East, Iraq’s vision of a mechanism of solution and end the crises it is experiencing.
