FNC to take part in PUIC’s meeting

WAM ABU DHABI: The parliamentary division of the Federal National Council (FNC) will take part in the 28th Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) scheduled tomorrow Saturday in Isfahan, Iran. The FNC will be represented by its member and representative of the Committee’s group of Arab members Rashad Mohammed Bokhesh.

The 2-day meeting, among other things, will view the annual report on PUIC which will be presented by the Secretary General and a study on a report by the FNC’s Parliamentary Division on the 2nd meeting of PUIC’s committee of experts, which was held 13th Session of the PUIC Council, in Abu Dhabi on 19 January 2011.

The forthcoming meeting will also set a date for the Eight Session of the Conference of the PUIC to be held in Sudan and for the 15th meeting of the general committee and propose an agenda for the standing committees of PUIOCM, namely the standing specialized committees on political and foreign relations, on human rights, women and family affairs, on economic affairs and environment and on cultural, legal affairs and dialogue of civilizations. 52 parliaments of member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) are members of PUIC which was established on 17 June 1999 at the inaugural conference in Iran.
