“Human Resources And Emiratisation” Forms A Special Committee For Employer And Employee Appeals

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) issued a decision to form a committee to deal with appeals filed by the two parties to the employment contract relationship regarding the Ministry’s decisions against either of them.

This comes in implementation of the Federal Decree-Law regulating labour relations and its implementing regulations, which emphasizes the principle of integrity and transparency in dealing with employers and employees and offers a special channel for their voices regarding decisions taken by the Ministry that affect one of them, particularly in relation to appeals against the decision to refuse work permits and administrative fines, the suspension of the establishment, appeal against the prohibition of issuing a work permit to the employee and other decisions.

The Ministerial Decision set a time limit of 30 days for filing the appeal request, calculated from the date on which the appellant became aware of the Ministry’s decision against him, provided that the request is substantiated and all supporting documents are attached to it.

The appeal request shall be decided within (15) working days from the date of its submission and the appellant and the organizational units of the Ministry shall be informed of their decision to take the necessary measures.

It should be noted that the submission of appeals is done through the Ministry’s website, www.mohre.gov.ae, or through the Ministry’s Smart App available on the Apple Store and Google Play.

The appellants can track their request by logging into the enquiry service on the Ministry’s website, through the Smart App or through the 80060 call centre.
