Iran’s Energy Minister announces Iraq’s request to rehabilitate its power stations and networks

TEHRAN Iran’s Energy Minister Reza Erdkanian said on Monday that a final agreement would soon be signed with Iraq to rehabilitate its existing electricity grids and stations and build new ones.

The Iraqi minister of electricity will visit Iran in the coming days, he said, adding that the final signing of a three-year program will include the construction of power stations, rehabilitation of other stations and internal electricity networks, as well as addressing the waste of energy, which is about 50 percent. this country.

He added that the electricity exports to Iraq will continue until they ask us and we intend to export electricity through Iraq to Syria, which is now on the scene of reconstruction and reconstruction
