Maktoum Bin Mohammed honours the winners of the Rashid Award for Academic Excellence

Dubai: Dubai Deputy Ruler HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the annual ceremony to honour the winners of the Rashid Award for Academic Excellence organised by the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai on Wednesday.

A total of 139 UAE citizens who obtained doctorate degrees in various disciplines received the prizes at the ceremony held under the patronage of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Speaker of the Federal National Council Mohammed Ahmed Al Mur and Minister of Education Humaid Al Qatami accompanied Sheikh Maktoum on his arrival at the venue of the ceremony.

The Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association established the Shaikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence in 1988 under the patronage of Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The annual awards are presented to UAE students who have achieved outstanding results at their respective academic levels. The Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association nominates and selects each year’s winners. They range from holders of master’s degrees and PhDs to outstanding students from the UAE’s universities, Higher Colleges and secondary schools.

Shaikh Maktoum congratulated the 139 winners, wishing them success in the service of the country.
