Mariam Almheiri briefed on FCSA remit
DUBAI, Mariam Hareb Almheiri, Minister of State for Food Security, was briefed about the duties and work of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA, as well as its responsibility to manage the country’s international competitiveness, statistics and achievement of sustainable development goals, and to plan future projects to support food security.
During her visit to the FCSA headquarters, she met with the Authority’s working team and discussed several strategic aspects of statistical work and how information is collected and made available, especially in relation to joint projects between the authority and federal and local government authorities and the private sector.
Almheiri explained the ways of promoting cooperation with the Authority and the support of its working group for the ministry’s initiatives and future projects, as well as its role in assisting related programmes, through providing consultation, knowledge and field support.
She also stressed the importance of benefitting from the Authority’s research expertise, to support the country’s future food security efforts.
Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the FCSA, said that the Authority is keen to support federal and local government authorities in the areas of statistics and international competitiveness reports while stressing that it is willing to place its expertise and capacities at the disposal of Almheiri and her working team, to achieve their desired goals and support the country’s food security strategy.
At the end of the visit, Almheiri toured the Authority’s facilities while accompanied by Lootah and several officials.
