Ministry of Community Development lauds Enable Foundation’s efforts to integrate people with disabilities

DUBAI, Najla bint Mohammed Al Awar, Minister of Community Development, praised the Enable Foundation for its efforts to promote social responsibility and support people with disabilities by building their capabilities, which will improve their lives as well as the society as a whole.

Al Awar was speaking while receiving a delegation from Enable Foundation, part of the Desert Group, at her office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai.

The delegation was headed by Reem Al Ghaith, Director-General of the foundation, which is one of the leading national institutions working to integrate people with disabilities in the workplace. The Minister honoured the foundation for successfully training and employing more than 30 Emirati nationals with mild mental disabilities in commercial and agricultural institutions besides helping them launch their own commercial projects.

Al Awar underscored the continuous co-operation between the Ministry and the foundation for promoting social solidarity as a means to support this segment of the society through training programmes and also to promote Enable’s products in the Ministry’s exhibitions across the UAE.

Al Ghaith also lauded the Ministry for its efforts to promote solidarity and co-operation with private companies to support people with disabilities.

She said that the foundation’s success in training and employing people with disabilities is a result of the continuous collaboration between Enable and the Ministry, which has been instrumental in developing and implementing initiatives that consolidate efforts between the government and public institutions. This collaboration is a catalyst that allows the foundation to achieve its social mission, Al Ghaith added.
