Ministry of Endowments Urges Doubling Obedience, Paying Zakat Al-Fitr in Last 10 Days of Ramadan

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) urged diligence in doubling obedience in the last 10 days of Ramadan.

In a statement on Sunday, the ministry also urged for Zakat Al-Fitr to be paid by the end of the holy month.

We congratulate all Muslims on reaching the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan 1444 AH, which includes Laytul-Qadr ‘the night of decree’ to strive in worship and to pay Zakat Al-Fitr, regardless of gender or age, as a purification for those who are fasting and as food for the poor, the statement said.

Zakat Al-Fitr is taken out from most of the people’s food, which is rice, at 2.5 kg per person and is given to the poor and needy. It is sufficient to pay it in cash at a value of QR 15.
