Mohammed bin Rashid issues law on Dubai School of Government

Dubai: In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has issued a law concerning the Dubai School of Government (DSG).

Article No (5) of the 24-article legislation says mandate of the Dubai- headquartered and non-profit teaching, training and research think-tank shall focus on enhancing quality of public administration and government governance, conducting relevant technical studies, building capacity of Dubai government human resources, disseminating the culture of good governance, improving performance and increasing productivity.

Under the law, the school shall establish its own press and publishing house which shall publish its publications and those of other specialised circles.

To assume its role properly, the law empowers the school to build constructive partnerships and ink agreements with local, Arab and international universities and institutions.

The law defines functions and powers of the DSG’s board of trustees, and sources of financial resources The law shall go into force on the date of issue and shall be published in the Gazette.
