Mohammed Bin Rashid to open FNC’s 2nd Ordinary Session

ABU DHABI: The Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will open the Second Ordinary Session of the 15th Legislative Chapter of the Federal National Council on Tuesday.

The Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, top military and civil officials and members of the diplomatic corps will be in attendance at the opening of the session.

On the first of November, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan officially called FNC to hold its Second Ordinary Session on 6 November 2012.

The Speaker of FNC, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, said the Council, during its First Ordinary Session of the 15th Legislative Chapter between 15 November 2011 and 26 June 2012, had achieved the its aspirations through discussing national issues in order to keep pace with the progress and growth of the UAE in different spheres.

The first meeting of the session will see the election of observers and the setting up of committees including the committee to respond to the opening speech.

FNC members will also review federal decrees issued this year and the agreements and treaties signed by the government in 2012.

A number of draft federal laws referred by the cabinet, proposals and national health, educational policies will also be discussed at the forthcoming FNC meeting.
