MoL organises workshops to educate Tas’heel employees about laws and regulations

DUBAI: The Ministry of Labour is educating employees of Tas’heel Service Centres in Abu Dhabi about labour laws and regulations, as well as providing basic information on customer rights and the duties of employment parties registered in the labour market. For this purpose, the ministry organised five workshops last week hosting 99 citizens from service centres located in various areas of Abu Dhabi. Tas’heel is an online government system designed to simplify all labour related processes, improve output volume and increase efficiency. It allows companies and typing centres to make online transactions and payments to the MoL, encouraging a paperless environment.

The workshops came as part of implementing the MoL’s initiatives towards Service Centre Management in cooperation with the Ministry’s Guidance Department.

Ismail Abdoul Balhoush, Member of the Ministry’s Guidance Department, gave comprehensive explanations during each workshop on the terms and provisions related to U.A.E. labour laws and focusing on types of contracts, working hours and overtime, in addition to annual vacation entitlements, wages and how to calculate the end of service gratuity.

He also reviewed relevant initiatives by the Ministry of Labour aimed at organising and stabilising the labour market through enhancing the national workforce and to achieve labour protection, flexibility and capabilities to attract suitable talents through an integrated system of standards, policies and regulatory tools. The initiative aims at achieving institutional partnership and excellent services.

Balhoush has also reviewed the Absher Initiative in terms of the programmes and special deals for national employees working in the private sector, in addition to other features offered by the programme and how to register on it.

Absher is an initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the objective of providing all means of stability and welfare for U.A.E. citizens by enhancing their participation in the labour market. There are seven Tas’heel Centres in Abu Dhabi.
