NCDR obtains membership of American Oral History Association

Abu Dhabi: The National Center for Documentation ”&” Research (NCDR) affiliated to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, has obtained the permanent membership of the Oral History Association (OHA).

This came during NCDR participation in OHA’s 46th Annual Meeting with the participation of more than 300 American institution specializing in the field of oral history.

The membership allows the center to use the e-link of OHA’s Oral History Department, which will provide NCDR with all editions of “Oral History Review”, published semi-annually by Oxford University Press presenting theoretical and methodological discussions taking place in the profession.

Abdulla El Reyes, NCDR Director-General said that the continuous participation of the center in OHA annual meeting is an implementation of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and NCDR Chairman.

It’s worth mentioning that the Oral History Association (OHA) is a professional association for oral historians and others interested in oral history. It is based in the United States but has international membership. Its mission is “to bring together all persons interested in oral history as a way of collecting and interpreting human memories to foster knowledge and human dignity.
