NCM participates in 34th session of Arab Permanent Committee on Meteorology in Cairo

CAIRO, The National Centre of Meteorology, NCM, is participating in the 34th session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Meteorology, which began today at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat in Cairo, with the participation of representatives of Arab countries.

The NCM was represented by its director Dr. Abdullah Al Mandous, and Mohamed Al Abri, Director of the Meteorological Department.

The three-day meeting will discuss several clauses related to aeronautical meteorology and meteorological information, as well as the methods of managing information on weather-related risks.

It will also discuss training and building capacities, as well as the Arab Climate Outlook Forum, ArabCOF, and its integrated strategy for Arab meteorological services and its executive plan for 2018-2030.

The Committee’s 34th session will also cover the means of strengthening cooperation with relevant institutions, including the World Meteorological Organisation and Arab, regional and international organisations, as well as cooperation between regions and countries.
