New gold and silver for Iraq in the Arab Junior Cycling Championship

Baghdad, Iraqi cyclist Hussein Ehab Abdel-Khader won today, Wednesday, a gold medal in the Arab Junior Cycling Championship competitions, which are currently taking place in Sharjah, UAE, while his colleague Abbas Farhan won a silver one.

The General Adviser of the Iraqi Cycling Federation, Ahmed Sabri, said, in a statement reported by the Federation’s website: “The Iraqi junior cycling team players, Hussein Ehab Abdul Khader and Abbas Farhan, were able to achieve two gold and silver medals in the individual race against the clock within the Arab Championship competitions.”

Sabri added: “The young champions raised the yield of medals for Iraq in the Arab Championship, which is witnessing strong competitions due to the high preparations of the Arab teams, especially Algeria and the UAE team hosting the tournament.

He continued: “Competitions are continuing today and tomorrow, Thursday, and we hope that our champions will achieve positive results that will place them in the first three positions.”

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi national team for the senior category won two gold medals in the second day’s competitions, which came through Dahat Kawa in the individual time trial, while the youth team player Wahbi Suleiman boosted Iraq’s balance with another golden medal on the first day of the tournament.
