Our reservations about the decisions of the Arab League because they did not rise to an official position towards Al-Quds

Baghdad, The Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said that Iraq reserved the decisions of the Arab League because it did not reach the level we were aspiring to formulate a responsible and real attitude towards the decision to consider Al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

Al-Jaafari said in a press statement on the sidelines of the Emergency Ministerial meeting of the Arab League in Cairo, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today that “Iraq made a proposal to the Arab League did not agree,” adding, that the proposal of Iraq to ensure the Arab countries take diplomatic and economic measures and attitudes towards the exchange of interests with United States.

“The Iraqi proposal comes to preserve our national and religious interests if the United States does not retreat from its decision on Al-Quds Al-Sharif,” he said.

He added that the position of the Foreign Ministry delegation came in line with the aspirations of the people and government of Iraq and the hopes of the Arab peoples to support the Palestinian cause and face the challenges it faces.”

The Arab Foreign Ministers decided at the end of an emergency meeting in Cairo last night to keep the Council of the League in an open session and meet again within a month at most to assess the situation and “agree on future steps in the light of developments, including the convening of an extraordinary Arab summit in Jordan, Currently president of the Arab Summit .
