UAE President sends written letter to President of Chadwhich included an invitation to COP28

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a letter to Lt. Gen. Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, Chairman of the Transitional Military Council, President of the Republic of Chad, which included an invitation to COP28, that will be held in Dubai Expo City this November.

The letter was delivered by Rashid Saeed Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Chad.

Seven people dead after Colombia mine explosion

The death toll from the coal mine explosion in Colombia’s Cucunuba municipality has gone up to seven, according to Colombian media report.

La FM radio, cited by Sputnik news agency, reported that a total of eleven people were under the rubble following the blast, four of them have been rescued. The bodies of three miners were brought to the surface earlier this week, while another four bodies were discovered on Friday.

The explosion at three linked coal mines in Cucunuba occurred on Thursday, April 20. Rescue workers have temporarily stopped their operation in order to ventilate the mines following the accumulation of gasses.

There are over 10,000 mines in Colombia, a lot of them illegal. Safety violations have led to numerous incidents at mining sites in the country.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival cup begins tomorrow at Toulouse racecrouse

H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival cup is set to kick off tomorrow with the second-category 2,000-metre race for purebred Arabian horses at the Toulouse racecourse, Hippodrome de Toulouse, as part of the festival’s fifth edition.

The largest in the racing season across France and Europe, the race will feature a, 30,000 prize and a field of 8 top-flight female horses, and is limited to four-year-old horses.

The Festival began on 11th January, 2023, and saw new races added to the 2023 season agenda, which comprises 152 races to take place in the UAE and around the world. It is held in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, to support horse owners and breeders across the world and encourage them to take care of Arabian horses.
