PM receives Grand Mufti of Egypt

Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh received Saturday, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Shawki Allam. In the meeting, attended by Minister of Awqaf Mohammad Khalaileh, the Prime Minister lauded the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Egypt, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The Prime Minister also commended efforts of Egypt’s Grand Mufti and its religious institutions in spreading the tolerant teachings of Islam, consolidating its sound principles, fighting intrusive and extremist ideas, and its cooperation in serving religious and humanitarian issues, lauding the close cooperation between religious institutions and Fatwa departments in both countries. In turn, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, who is also head of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide (GSFOW), commended the Kingdom’s efforts under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, in promoting the image of Islam and consolidating its true principles and established values and defending them in various forums and events, reaffirming his position in support of these efforts. Allam wished the King and Crown Prince continued health and wellness, and Jordan further progress, resilience and prosperity.
