President of the Republic headed to Kuwait as part of Gulf and Regional tour

BAGHDAD, President of the Republic Barham Saleh headed to Kuwait this morning to start a Gulf and regional tour involving a number of neighboring countries in his first visit outside Iraq after his election as President of the Republic.

According to a Presidential statement said that the Kuwaiti visit comes at the invitation of the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, adding that the visit is expected to include discussions on the bilateral relations and ways to develop them.

“The tour will include the United Arab Emirates, as well as a number of neighboring countries, it said.

“Saleh tour is aiming at Iraq seeking to build the best relations with its Arab and Gulf depth and to cooperate with its brothers in establishing good-neighborliness, economic and development integration and common cultural advancement to serve the people of the region and promote the concepts of international cooperation,” it added.
