Qatari newspapers on Wednesday condemned the Israeli occupation’s new aggression on Gaza Strip which left 15 martyrs including women and children, adding a new series to its horrific crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people.
The Qatari dailies agreed that yesterday’s aggression reflects the Israeli occupation’s persisted in its blatant violations of international law, defiance of the international legitimacy resolutions, and non-compliance with previous agreements and rounds of truce.
The newspapers highlighted Qatar’s strong condemnation of the Israeli aggression which claimed the lives of innocent and defenseless civilians, saying that the brutal Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip represented a new episode in the series of the horrific crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people.
The papers underlined that the State of Qatar considers the just Palestinian cause a fundamental pillar of its foreign policy, and will always stand by the Palestinian people and will continue to support them in various political, diplomatic, humanitarian and media means till they achieve their legitimate rights, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In its editorial entitled “Brutal Aggression”, Al-Watan said that any condemnation of the new Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip must be accompanied by denouncing the silence and inaction of the international organizations and the western countries on the Israeli crimes, noting that the international indifference, Arab preoccupation and Palestinian disintegration are all factors that gave the occupation authorities signals that they are capable of committing crimes without being held accountable.
The Israeli Prime Minister, who directed this criminal act, realizes that the assassination of three leaders of the resistance will not bring security to them, rather more resistance. His real aim was distracting the attention from the internal problems in his government. As it is the case each time whenever the government reaches a dead end, the West Bank and Gaza Strip are turned into a theater for Israeli crimes, Al-Watan added.
The new Israeli aggression coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, recalling the terrible tragedy that befell the Palestinian people because of the occupation which stole their land, led to their displacement unjustly and aggressively, and committed a series of heinous crimes and massacres. However, this brutal terrorism has not succeeded for 75 years in spreading despair and frustration among the Palestinian people, and will not, neither today nor tomorrow, succeed in undermining the will of this people and their firm determination to restore their legitimate rights, Al-Watan concluded.
Meanwhile, Qatari daily Al-Sharq said that the new Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip represents a new episode in the series of the horrific crimes that have been committed by the occupation against the defenseless Palestinian people, especially women and children; and affirms the Israeli occupation’s persisted in its blatant violations of international law, defiance of the international legitimacy resolutions, and non-compliance with previous agreements and rounds of truce.
This brutal aggression against Gaza Strip carried out by 40 warplanes, deliberately targeting innocent civilians, including children and women, is an extension of the dangerous and continuous Israeli escalation in the Palestinian territories since the rise of the far-right government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, and clearly reflects the failure of the international community, led by the UN Security Council, in carrying out its responsibilities in providing protection for the Palestinian people and in curbing the repeated Israeli attacks, Al-Sharq stressed.
The lack of accountability and impunity with regard to the Israeli entity’s crimes does not only reveals a form of incapacity, complicity and double standards, but also strikes at the heart of the credibility of the institutions of the international community, and the purpose of continuing these institutions without being subjected to real reforms that would make them more effective in carrying out their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security and in achieving international justice, Al-Sharq concluded.
