RAK Crown Prince opens Asian Football Youth Championship 2012

Ras al-Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, crown prince of Ras al-Khaimah opened today Asian Football Youth Championship 2012, being hosted by the UAE from Nov. 3- 18.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the participant Asian teams, wishing them success in the championship hosted by their second home, UAE.

He added that the UAE has been seeking to host the continental and international sports events in order to extend bridges of cooperation to different countries worldwide.

The RAK Crown Prince thanked the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and UAE Football Association for selecting the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah to host the first and third groups with its sister Emirate of Fujairah.

The open tie between UAE national youth team against its Kuwaiti counterpart ended in draw 1/1.
