Regional anti-terrorism conference kicks off in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: A regional anti-terrorism conference got underway in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday with the participation of 25 Arab and non-Arab countries.

The conference is organised by the UAE Interior Ministry under the title ‘ Anti-Terrorism Project in the MENA Region’.

Four international organisations including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) are participating in the conference.

Opening the conference, Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lt.General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar pointed out that the participation of so many countries in this unique meeting indicated the importance they attach to the efforts to encounter terrorism, which pose a threat to the security and stability of world countries.
