Rescuing guests from a fire that broke out in a hotel in the Karrada district of Baghdad

The Civil Defense teams succeeded in rescuing the guests of the multi-storey “Al Sharq” hotel, which was exposed to a fire, after they had used the double-use ladder vehicle to rescue and extinguish the fire, to take full control over the fire accident and rescue all those in the hotel in Karrada area near the National Theater in Baghdad.

The Civil Defense Directorate said in a statement, “The civil defense teams hurried and carried out direct incursions, while moving the rescue effort through the external windows by means of the ladder vehicle, in conjunction with the operations of extinguishing and cordoning off fire, providing first aid and pulmonary resuscitation for the suffocated, and finished their work without recording human losses.”

It added, “As a result, the Civil Defense requested an investigation to be opened at the police station responsible for the geographical area and to summon a forensic expert to determine the reasons for the outbreak of the fire in the first place.”
