Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria: More than 40,000 armed men and their family members leave the eastern Ghouta

BAGHDAD – The Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, Major General Yuri Yevtushenko announced that more than 40 thousand armed men and their family members were transferred from the eastern Ghouta to the area of reducing the escalation in Idlib.

“We have evacuated from Arbeel, Jubeir, Ayn Tirma, and Zmalka about 41 thousand and / 126 armed men with family members,” Yevtushenko said.

He added that “all of them went to the area of the fortress of the strait in the area of reducing the escalation in Idlib, accompanied by security vehicles belonging to the Syrian army, the ambulance of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, as well as military soldiers of the military police of the Russian armed forces.”

“More than 100 civilians have left the eastern Ghouta in Syria in the past 24 hours,” he said.

He pointed out that “since the start of the” humanitarian corridors “in the eastern Ghouta and with the help of the Russian Reconciliation Center, more than 153 thousand people left the area.
