SCC approves draft law on regulation of SMAAD

SHARJAH, — As part of its third ordinary session of the 9th Legislative Session at its fifth meeting, the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), has approved a draft law on the regulation of the Sharjah Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Department (SMAAD) with a number of amendments.

Khawla Abdulrahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the SCC, lauded the essential role of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in ensuring a dignified life for the UAE citizens of Sharjah, according to Sharjah24.

After the ratification of the minutes of the previous session, the SCC discussed the draft law of 2017 on the organisation of SMAAD, in the presence of Salem bin Mohammed Al Naqbi, member of the Sharjah Executive Council, SEC, Chairman of SMAAD, along with several legal advisors.

Concluding the meeting, Al Naqbi praised the wise vision of the Ruler of Sharjah in improving the services, pointing out that the law will qualify the department to provide distinctive work and a new, highly efficient phase of development.
