Second Abu Dhabi Quality Forum to pave way for achieving Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030

ABU DABI: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, QCC, responsible for the development of quality infrastructure and raising awareness on quality in Abu Dhabi, is set to host the second Abu Dhabi Quality Forum, ADQF. The initiative comes in pursuit of QCC’s objective to serve as key contributors to achieving Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030, by attracting recognised industry players to establish operations in the emirate.

Scheduled for the 27th – 28th April 2014 at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, the second edition will focus on opening channels of dialogue between leaders of the public sector and industry, benefiting from their experience in the areas of quality infrastructure to enable products and industry to go from local to global. This is in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision to create a diversified and sustainable economy supported by a flexible industrial infrastructure that contributes to the establishment of high quality standard, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the emirate on a global level.

“Following the vision of our leadership and embodying the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, ADQF 2014 helps establish the role of quality in our journey towards achieving a sustainable economic growth. Titled ‘QI: From Local to Global’, the forum contributes to the development of ideas, initiatives and actions needed to enhance the quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi,” said Hussain Salem Al Katheeri, Secretary-General, Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.

“Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council was established to provide the right environment for the development of quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. We organise this forum to be a distinctive platform, attracting 800 decision-makers from regulators, government, leaders of business and industry, as well as a range of international and regional experts. Under this umbrella, the current and future challenges facing industry are discussed. ADQF aspires to achieve long term concrete results, supporting Abu Dhabi’s journey to establish a sustainable and competitive economy that is based on the standards of quality, excellence and innovation,” Al Katheeri added.

Through panel discussions, workshops and meetings with regulators, the forum will bring together leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss new and innovative models of cooperation aimed at raising the standards of quality in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and throughout the region.

More than 80 regional and international speakers will take part in this year’s event, which will be attended by both local and international delegations. The forum is a platform for international and local industry experts to exchange knowledge, cooperate and discuss best practices and trends to identify solutions that will help lay the foundations for future prosperity and development.

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council was established in 2009 to raise the quality of Abu Dhabi’s exports and products traded locally, while protecting the interests of the emirate’s consumers and supporting its competitive economy. This is achieved through enabling regulators to establish and implement product safety, legal metrology and conformity schemes. QCC also sets guidelines and benchmarks to identify and verify that the products manufactured and traded in the emirate conform to the highest quality standards.
