Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister visits Abu Dhabi’s Civil Defence Academy

ABU DHABI– The Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Teo Chee Hean, and his accompanying delegation have visited the Civil Defence Academy of Abu Dhabi headquarters.

The visit aims to promote communication between the civil defence authorities in the UAE and Singapore, and to exchange experiences and knowledge. The delegation viewed the latest programmes in civil defence, public safety and fire prevention.

The delegation toured the academy’s facilities and viewed the general equipment, systems, and specialist fire simulation equipment, including those for use in fire training scenarios in supermarkets, cafes, hospitals, hotels and residential flats, as well as in malls and parking lots.

Major General Jassem Mohammed Al Marzouqi, General Commander of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior, highlighted the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge with other countries in promoting risk prevention methods, to implement and benefit from the best civil defence practices, enhance overall performance and scientific capacities, and advance the UAE’s overall prevention and safety system.
