Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament supports the delivery of 250 thousand barrels of oil per day to Baghdad

Sulaimaniyah Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament stressed the need for joint cooperation between the parliament and the government to implement radical reforms in all government facilities.

Kurdish media reported that Ruwwaz Faeq, Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament, met with James Thornton, the New British Consul in the Kurdistan region, and discussed with him the latest developments in the region and Iraq.

She stressed the need for joint cooperation between the parliament and the government to implement radical reforms in all government facilities in the region and the reorganization of taxes fairly within the legal framework.

On the oil file, the Speaker said she supports the idea of handing the Kurdistan region 250 thousand barrels of oil to the federal government so that Baghdad be committed to disburse the financial dues of the region and the dues of companies operating in this area.

She confirmed her support for the steps taken by the Kurdistan Regional Government to resolve the outstanding problems with the federal government through dialogue and adherence to the Iraqi Constitution.
