Sultan Al Qasimi tours Souq Al Jubail

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah today made field visits to a number of projects being developed by the emirate’s Public Works Department (PWD).

Sheikh Sultan stopped at the site of the new Souq Al Jubail project. The AED 173 million project entails construction of a 2 storey Souq with 91 shops fish market, 67 meat shops and 212 vegetable ‘&’ fruits shops. The Souq will also have three first aid rooms, a coffee shop and six prayer rooms.

He was briefed by the Chairman PWD Chairman Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi about the new Souq designs and facilities and the project completion dates.

Sheikh Sultan ordered expansion of the existing mosque and the surrounding car parks at the Souq area to accommodate more worshippers.

Sheikh Sultan’s next stop was the site of the Sharjah Municipality building at Al Mussala area. He also visited the livestock and poultry market.
