The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ottawa presents his credentials to the Governor General of Canada, Ms. Julie Byte

HE Dr. Wadith Betty presented his credentials to the Honorable Governor General of Canada, Mrs. Julie Byte, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iraq to the State of Canada. This took place at a formal ceremony held on Tuesday 9/7/2019 at the temporary headquarters of the Governor-General of the Canadian city of Quebec.

During the presentation of the credentials, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Barham Saleh, President of the Republic, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, the Iraqi government and people to the Governor-General, the Canadian Government and people, affirming Iraq’s sincere and strong desire to develop relations between the two countries.

For her part, Canada’s Governor-General, Mrs. Jolie Byte, affirmed Canada’s firm stance in continuing to provide all forms of support to Iraq, pointing to the positive and successful recent visit to Iraq by octagon of the leading role of Iraq, the cradle of civilizations and its qualitative and effective contribution to the establishment of human civilization. Its faith in its resurgence and playing a pivotal role in both the Middle East and the world.
