The Head Of The Supreme Judicial Council Discusses Ways Of Cooperation With The French Judiciary

Baghdad, The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faik Zaidan recently held an official visit to the Republic of France at the head of a judicial delegation to discuss common issues and ways to enhance cooperation.

Judge Abdul Sattar Birqdar, spokesman of the Supreme Judicial Council, said in a statement that “The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faik Zaidan, presided over a high-level judicial delegation on an official visit to the Republic of France, including the head of the Judicial Supervision Commission, the President of the Court of Appeal of Baghdad, Basra” pointing out that “the judicial delegation met with the Director of the National School of the French judiciary and a number of judges and prosecutors in the Presidency of the Judicial Council and the representative of the French Ministry of Interior.

Birqdar added that “the delegation discussed ways of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of combating terrorism and enhancing cooperation between them in all judicial fields,” pointing out that “the French side expressed admiration for the role played by the judiciary in Iraq in the fight against terrorism.”
